Malignant Mesothelioma - the most serious of all asbestos-related diseases; a rare form of cancer affecting the sac lining of the chest (pleura) or abdomen (peritoneum); virtually all cases of malignant mesothelioma are attributable to asbestos exposure.
Asbestos - a naturally occurring mineral that has been used all over the world in a huge range of applications since its first discovery. Its chief physical properties are its durability and resistance to heat and combustion.
Asbestos Exposure - because asbestos is an extremely fibrous mineral, working with it can quickly generate many small fibers. When these fibers are inhaled or ingested, serious health problems can result such as asbestosis or mesothelioma.
